Concept Painting Lazurus Islands

A pure 2D concept of Laz Islands. A work for environmental concept design.

Story Synopsis :

The year 4100, this world is centuries ahead of where we are today. But where it takes place, is not on our world but one of magical properties.
In this world, there are 5 artifacts that inhabit this world. Neither crafted nor forged, these 5 powerful objects are scattered across the lands.
Each with their own properties and with its own gatekeepers/guardians.

We follow Tanya Agni, a chief leader of a tribe called "The Embers". They live on Lazurus Islands, a hostile and gritty environment, however it wasn't
always like this. An artifact used to be this island's geological and ecological balance, but was harnessed by Tanya's ancient ancestors a long
time ago, dooming and cursing the islands to be attacked by a shadow plague every mid year. The once blooming island now turned into a
deadly burden of constant combat and war just for the tribes survival. Now, Lazurus is an ashen island among the dark oceans,
harbouring black sands, with little resemblance to its lush past. The island plateaus are dominated by sharp jagged black stones with an active
central volcano dominating it all.

A dark aura circles around the volcano's peak. Lazurus is shrouded with smog along with the subtle scarce glow of red and orange from the
volcanos magma. The shadow plague is now back to lay waste once again on the tribe. Born to unfortunately bear the burden of her ancestors
Tanya is the wielder of an artifact known as the fire stone, dubbed the MorningStar, the same artifact that destabalized the islands is now her
only weapon. As family heirloom passed down by her late father and former chief, we can only wonder if the same fate that possibly awaits
as she walks into the smoldering heart of the island to prepare siege.
